Every communication journey is unique. Through specialized programs for children, adults, and families, the Robbins Center provides personalized care that fosters growth, connection, and confidence in everyday communication through a variety of our specialty programs.

Acquired Communication Disorders

The Program for Acquired Communication Disorders provides evaluation and treatment for adults with neurologically based speech, language, and cognitive challenges resulting from conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, and other neurological disorders. Comprehensive evaluation services support diagnosis and treatment planning while providing a framework for monitoring progress over time.

Working closely with clients and their families, the program offers both individual and group services in a supportive environment. Innovative approaches—including computer-assisted learning, peer support, and community-based experiences—help clients strengthen communication skills and develop strategies that support everyday life and independence.

Developmental Communication Disorders

Serving preschool- and school-aged children, the Program for Developmental Communication Disorders supports individuals with speech and language delays, articulation difficulties, literacy challenges, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and other developmental differences. Individual and group therapy sessions are tailored to each child’s needs and emphasize a family-centered approach that actively involves caregivers throughout the treatment process.

Programs for Voice and Speech

The Programs for Voice and Speech provide individualized services for a range of communication needs related to voice, fluency, and speech clarity. Specialized offerings include treatment for voice disorders, stuttering, accent modification, and communication challenges associated with Parkinson’s disease through the SPEAK OUT!® program. The programs also include the Voice and Communication Affirmation Program, which supports individuals seeking to align their voice and communication style with their identity.

Thayer Lindsley Program

The Thayer Lindsley Family-Centered Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Infants and Toddlers provides communication-focused services for infants and toddlers who are deaf or hard of hearing, along with support for their families. Through parent-infant groups, toddler groups, support networks, individual therapy, and community outings, the program helps families navigate the early stages of speech and language development while fostering meaningful connections and communication growth.

The Robbins Speech, Language, and Hearing Center is committed to providing high-quality, accessible care for individuals and families across diverse communities. Service fees are intentionally kept modest, and payment plans or reduced fees may be available for those with financial need.

The Robbins Center welcomes children and adults of all backgrounds and provides evaluation and treatment services regardless of income, race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other status protected by applicable state or federal law.

The Robbins Center welcomes referrals from individuals, family members, friends, healthcare providers, rehabilitation specialists, early intervention programs, schools, and other community partners.
