At Emerson, you’ll work hard and you’ll play hard, too. Athletics and recreation are designed to complement your academic experience—not compete with it. Whether you’re a varsity athlete, intramural competitor, or simply looking for ways to stay active, you’ll build community, focus on wellness, and develop leadership skills alongside a rigorous academic and creative education.
Emerson College Lions compete in 14 NCAA Division III intercollegiate programs. As members of the highly competitive New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), the Lions field teams in basketball, baseball, cross-country, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball.
Fans can watch games live from anywhere through PlaySight streaming technology, which also allows coaches to provide athletes with real-time feedback and performance analysis.
Campus Fitness
No matter if you’re a student-athlete in season or someone who’s never before visited a gym, everyone is welcome at our Fitness Center. Located in the heart of campus, it’s easy to fit in a workout in between classes, rehearsals, or internships. Below the Piano Row residence hall, this 13,000-square-foot facility features state-of-the-art cardio and strength-training equipment selected specifically for the space. Experienced Fitness Center staff are available to answer questions, provide guidance, and help you feel comfortable and confident.
Intramurals
Boston campus students can stay active through a wide range of recreational and intramural sports, including dodgeball, volleyball, futsal, basketball—and even our nationally-ranked Quadball team (formerly quidditch).
