At the center of Emerson’s academic life, the Iwasaki Library connects people, ideas, and technology to support research, teaching, and creative exploration. Through its collections, archives, and academic support services, the department helps students and faculty ask bigger questions, uncover new perspectives, and build knowledge across disciplines.
With an extensive catalog of books, films, and other media, as well as scholarly databases, research support, and collaborative workspaces, the library gives the Emerson community the tools to turn curiosity into discovery. Archives & Special Collections
Emerson College Archives & Special Collections (ECASC) preserves the stories, voices, and creative legacies that have shaped Emerson and the industries it serves. From institutional records and historical materials to collections documenting journalism, film, television, theater, communication disorders, and comedy, the department connects the past with new generations of researchers, creators, and storytellers.
Students, faculty, alumni, and visiting researchers use the collections to support coursework, scholarship, and creative projects, bringing historical perspectives into conversation with contemporary ideas.
Records Management
Records management helps you confidently manage the information you create and use every day. By organizing, storing, and disposing of records at the right time, you can protect sensitive information, find what you need faster, and free up valuable workspace—all while supporting Emerson’s operational and legal responsibilities.
The Records Management team is here to help. Whether you’re working with digital files, paper records, or other materials, we can help you determine what to keep, how long to retain it, and when it’s time to archive or securely dispose of records.
