Emerson’s global undergraduate programs let you study across countries and creative communities while earning your degree. Choose your program below to find the process and materials that apply to you:

Global BAs with Franklin University Switzerland

Students applying to the Global BA in International and Political Communication or Global BA in Business of Creative Enterprises must apply directly through Franklin University Switzerland. Do not use Emerson’s standard application for these programs.

Franklin students begin their studies at Emerson’s Boston campus, and are not eligible for off-campus programs or the Honors Program during their first semester.

Global BFA in Film Art

Applicants to the Global BFA in Film Art should first follow Emerson’s standard first-year application process. Then, they must submit an additional essay and creative sample through the Admission Portal. The program is not currently open to transfer applicants.

The Global BFA Essay

Write a 300–500 word response to the following prompt:

Through the unique structure of the Global BFA in Film Art, you will study at Paris College of Art in France and at Emerson College in the United States and the Netherlands. Knowing this, how does the multinational aspect of this program connect with your previous life experience as well as your personal and creative career goals?

The Creative Sample

Choose one of the following options:

  • One film or video up to five minutes long (up to 5 GB per file)
  • A portfolio of 10–15 examples of creative work in another media, such as photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, etc.

Written work does not meet the creative sample requirement for this program.

Submit one complete work rather than a compilation of excerpts.
