International Applicants

There are two ways to apply: through the Common Application or the Emerson Application. The application fee ($70 USD) is waived for all international applicants.

Please use the exact name listed on your passport in your application. Once submitted, you’ll receive an email confirmation and a second confirmation when your application is complete.

Submit Your Official Transcripts

Official transcripts are required from each secondary school attended, including courses taken and grades received. All non-English transcripts must include a certified translation. Official documents must be originals (not faxes or photocopies).

Complete a Credential Evaluation

Emerson has partnered with The Evaluation Company (TEC) for discounted credential evaluation. Access the TEC Application.

Meet the English Language Proficiency Requirement

If English is not the national or primary language of your country, you must submit an English proficiency exam score unless you are currently completing your fourth consecutive year of secondary study at an English-language institution. Submitting a qualifying SAT or ACT score automatically satisfies this requirement.

If English is the national or primary language of your country, complete the English Proficiency Waiver in your Admission Portal.

Accepted Exams and Minimum Scores

We accept the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition. We do not accept the IELTS Indicator or TOEFL ITP Plus for China.

Check Your Status

Log in to the Admission Portal to track your application. It may take up to two weeks for newly submitted materials to appear.

Apply for Financial Aid

All students are automatically considered for merit scholarships. If you hold U.S. citizenship or Permanent Residency, submit financial aid materials as soon as possible.
