    Screenwriting ’14

    Stefani Robinson is a writer and producer who is best known for writing “Atlanta” and “What We Do In The Shadows.” She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2022.

    At Emerson Robinson pursued a degree in screenwriting through the Writing, Literature, and Publishing program.

  • New York

    While at Emerson, Robinson interned in Comedy Central’s writing department, where she looked over scripts and sat in writers’ meetings for The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.

  • ELA ? Gersh

    Robinson was part of the first class to attend Emerson Los Angeles (ELA), after the building first opened in Spring 2014. While attending ELA, she interned at the Gersh Agency.

  • The Big Break

    Straight out of college, Robinson got a spec script reviewed at FX when they were hiring for Atlanta. Creator Donald Glover and EP Paul Simms were looking for scribes who actually lived in Atlanta, and Robinson was a native of the Peach State.

  • Emmy history

    Robinson made Emmy history as the first Black woman to be nominated for both Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for her work on Atlanta, which also brought her two Writers Guild of America Awards.
