Through the  Emerson College Master Classes program, you’ll learn directly from accomplished alumni, industry leaders, partners, and friends who bring their expertise, experiences, and insights directly to Emerson students. As a signature initiative supporting the Extraordinary Emerson 2030 strategic plan, Master Classes give you meaningful opportunities to engage in experiential learning, build professional connections, and gain perspectives from the people shaping today’s creative industries.

  • Seth Grahame-Smith ’98: Screenwriter, producer, and bestselling author, best known for The Lego Batman Movie, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
  • Michael Mendenhall ’84: A global executive with expertise in film, television, technology, and enterprise leadership. Leadership roles at The Walt Disney Company, IBM, Flex, and TriNet.
  • Dawn Steinberg ’83: Executive Vice President of Worldwide Talent and Casting for Sony Pictures Television Inc. Instrumental in the casting of Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad, Rose Byrne in Damages, and Molly Parker in Doc.
  • Alex Tse ’98: Writer and co-creator of the TV series, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, Also the co-writer of Watchmen and was writer and co-executive producer of Spike Lee’s Sucker Free City.
  • Bobbi Brown ’79, LHD ’12: Renowned makeup artist and entrepreneur, bestselling author, beauty industry icon, and a hotelier. Founded two successful cosmetic brands: Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, and Jones Road.
